A practical business book by Kane Henneke

From Market Gap to Repeat Order

A Practical Guide to Turning Technical Promise into Reliable, Profitable Growth

A field guide to the decisions, handoffs and operating disciplines that turn a promising molecule into something a customer chooses to buy again.

Now launching: the public audio-video author series. The working manuscript remains in review, and each briefing is released only after factual, confidentiality, permissions and editorial checks.

The customer does not experience separate departments.

The customer experiences one company—and reorders the result.

A sale is not commercialization.

Follow the book as a practical audio-video series about the decisions, handoffs and operating disciplines that earn the next order.

Why this book

A market gap is only the beginning.

Specialty chemicals live at a demanding intersection. A formulation can perform in the laboratory and still fail in scale-up. A sales team can win a trial and still lose the business in supply. A plant can make excellent material that solves the wrong customer problem. The work becomes interesting precisely because no function wins alone.

This book follows the complete commercialization system—from the first signal through R&D, facilities, finance, qualification, manufacturing, logistics and customer experience. The governing test is deliberately practical: did the customer use the product, experience the whole company and choose to order again?

The complete journey

From spark to operating proof.

These six lenses summarize the journey without replacing the working manuscript's five-part, 23-chapter structure.

01

Find the real gap

Separate a promising signal from a market, then test the customer problem, alternatives, economics and evidence.

02

Build the whole case

Connect geography, feedstocks, capital, regulatory boundaries, talent and route to market before the cost becomes difficult to reverse.

03

Translate the chemistry

Move from laboratory promise through scale-up, manufacturing, quality and qualification without losing what the customer actually values.

04

Operate as one company

Align sales, technical, operations, supply chain and customer service so the customer never has to integrate the supplier's organization.

05

Earn the second order

Treat repeat business as the proof that product, service, supply, economics and trust worked together after real use.

06

Build the next molecule

Examine where energy, minerals, water, compute, capital, policy and industrial know-how may shape the next chemical ecosystems.

Who it is for

People who have to make the whole promise work.

The book is written for experienced leaders and curious newcomers. It defines necessary technical terms without flattening the substance, then turns each concept into questions a cross-functional team can use on Monday morning.

  • Executives, owners, investors and board members
  • Scientists, engineers and R&D leaders
  • Commercial, sales, marketing and product teams
  • Manufacturing, quality, EHS and regulatory professionals
  • Procurement, supply-chain and customer-service leaders
  • Students and newcomers curious about chemical-industry careers

About the author

Kane Henneke

Kane Henneke is the founder of Henneke Holdings and a global commercial executive with more than 25 years across specialty chemicals, advanced materials, technical selling, product management, supply systems, P&L leadership and cross-border business building.

His premise is simple but demanding: commercialization is not proved by a laboratory result, a sample request or even a first shipment. It is proved when the operating system keeps its promise well enough to earn the next order.
